The TEACH program is an interactive workshop in which participants “learn-by-doing” using the Harvi real-time cardiovascular simulator. This program provides an introduction to the fundamentals of cardiovascular physiology and helps build the foundation for a deep understanding of the pathophysiology of cardiogenic shock and all forms for mechanical circulatory support used for its treatment. The program helps conceptualize these complex concepts through the window of the ventricular pressure-volume diagram, giving participants a fresh and unique perspective that can carry over to clinical practice.
TEACH programs are tailored to the needs and experience of a particular audience. TEACH-ECMO programs are available that focus on the physiology of ECMO, gas exchange, heart and lung failure, and understanding complications unique to ECMO support. TEACH II programs focus on train-the-trainer skills to allow participants to use Harvi in their teaching.
